DESIGN Work.

Metal Practice.
I have always been drawn to fashion, and the avenue which speaks to me the most is jewelry. I love the reflective quality of metals, and I love that it can transform the way one feels. Using both hand tool and digital tools I work through thinking of how the body changed in jewelry.
A huge part of my interest in jewelry is the interaction of the body. How it changes the way it’s held when wearing one piece or another, how the weight of it changes the comfort level of the wearer or how there is a comfort in carrying a companion object with you throughout the day. These lines of inquiry are ones that guide me through this practice.

Ceramic Practice.
Ceramics has become a new part of my practice recently, starting with slipcasting from digital outputs like 3D models and moving into more analog ways of working, like wheel throwing. This use of both digital and analog comes up throughout my process.
Most of my ceramic work centers around functional pieces in the home, specifically food. I want to disrupt the norms of eating through platewear and explore the relationship between the food, the person eating and the tools they use.

Textile Practice.
Textiles was the first medium I explored outside of drawing. It became my favorite way to explore and created a deep love for dressing the body. Through this medium, I try and to think of how our clothes can serve our needs more fully, with pockets being an intense fixation of mine. As well as thinking of how materials that already exist as older items can evolve into something else through manipulation of the fabric.
