TESSA KROCHAK

My practice revolves around changing the interactions between humans and materials, focusing on trying to build an appreciation for the everyday rituals of the day and the objects that allow those rituals to exist. Designing around expressing the self through dress, the tactile sensation of wearing jewelry and the plating of daily meals pique my interest heavily and are areas I would like to explore further. I work through textiles, clay, metal, wood and poetry with an openness to new materials that I encounter as I design. Through these materials, I also design with my surrounding ecology in mind, looking to source used objects and giving them a new life, and carefully observing how my practice impacts the beings residing around us.
